Will people know I’m wearing dentures?
Today, dentures are made with amazing technology and look very natural. At Direct Denture Care your dentures are custom made to comfortably fit your mouth, and they are coloured to appear as natural as possible.
We design your dentures to replicate your original teeth, so your appearance will not change.
Will my dentures hurt?
Understandably, your new dentures will feel a little strange at first, however they should never hurt. If you ever experience pain with your dentures, contact us immediately, as it may indicate that something is not quite right.
Will my dentures affect my sense of taste?
At first, your food may taste a little different as your mouth adjusts to the dentures. However, foods will soon start to taste normal again.
Will I have to take my dentures out at night?
Taking your dentures out at night enables your mouth and gums to recover from the effort of supporting your dentures during the day. However, the choice to take them out or not is completely up to you.
If you choose to keep them in at night you’ll have to make sure that you clean them thoroughly before you go to bed.
How do I take care of my dentures?
To take care of your dentures, just like natural teeth, dentures need to be cleaned morning and night to remove food particles and plaque.
If you do not clean your dentures daily, plaque will build up along the gum-line and where your dentures meet any remaining teeth.
How often will I have to replace my dentures?
Dentures are made from material that is softer than natural teeth, so eventually they will need to be replaced.
To get the most out of your dentures, it is recommended that you visit a dental professional every six to twelve months. At Direct Denture Care we recommend that patients with full dentures visit us once a year and that those with partial dentures visit at least once every six months.
Are Implant Retained Overdentures a good option?
Implant Overdentures are a newer alternative to regular dentures that combine the conventional denture technology with new improvements. Implant Overdentures are generally used when a person does not have any tooth in the jaw. They are comfortable and just easy to care for as standard dentures.
